Discover The Sisterhood Collective

What is the true essence of this movement?

At the heart of the Sisterhood Collective, you’ll discover a unifying force, a proudly pan-African forum where Afro-descendant women like you unite. This space invites you, the multi-faceted artist, to immerse yourself in a shared reflection, weaving together the story of your place in this society and your profound identity.

Here, you won’t be alone. You’ll exchange, share, and together we’ll map out and deconstruct the path to emancipation and healing. It’s in this Afrocentric approach that you’ll find the key to approaching your cultural expressions in a new light.

At the heart of the Sisterhood Collective’s protected space, you’ll take control of your voice and your body. You’ll connect with these ancestral practices, reconnecting with the heritage that belongs to you. As you rewrite your history, you’ll rekindle the flame of your ancestors, turning their legacy into a living source of empowerment and affirmation.

Sisterhood & Artivism (S&A)

When arts meets activism

Under the artistic direction of Massinda Zinga, the members of the collective come together four times a year during four-day residencies, totaling sixteen days over the course of the year.

These gatherings are dedicated to the analysis of specific themes approached from various angles. This work encompasses physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional dimensions, aiming to capture the resilience of transgenerational memory inscribed in the physical body.

From these creative laboratories, various artistic performances will emerge. These initiatives aim to disseminate their messages, assert their place, and continue building the world of tomorrow they envision as women & artists.
